I just started working on my first project using PCS. It is a mixture of MNB-1000's for the big systems and MNL-VAV's controllers for the terminal units. I completed the MNB portion and went to add the VAV controllers and got a generic error message that was no help. After trying a couple more times, using different MNL profile types, and even creating a new project on a fresh installation of PCS I still had the same generic error. I went online to the KB and found an article explaining that PCS does not support MNL devices.
I was really excited to finally be able to use PCS to engineer jobs. So far I have been very pleased working in PCS. The engineering process is about 10 times faster then working on a live AS. The biggest time savings come when running binding templates, and saving script programs and graphics. Another huge time cost when engineering on a live AS is how long it takes to save a WPT program, and I was looking forward to see how much faster PCS could perform the same task. PCS not supporting MNL's really puts a huge hindrance on our office utilizing PCS as we use MNL's quite often.
I would like to see PCS support creating MNL devices and attaching WPT programs to them, just like on a live AS with no LON bus attached. If nothing else, there should be an informative error message saying the same thing as the KB article, when a user attempts to create an MNL device.
