Customer Challenges
The palm oil extraction process created variable power demand requiring the ability to automate power monitoring and load shedding to manage power demand.
The Solution
ProSoft gateways - 10 PLX31-MBTCP-MBS4 - were installed at each power distribution panel; these gateways provided Modbus serial connection with multiple Modbus TCP client interfaces to Schneider PAC and SCADA workstations.
Customer Benefits
With multiple serial connections from the gateway functionality, as well as a number of client and server ENET connections, benefits included:
Ability to serve data from each power monitor simultaneously to PAC and SCADA
Small panel footprint facilitated low-cost installation and minimized serial wiring distance for additional savings
Additionally, ProSoft's ease of communication configuration and user-friendly video tutorials simplified set up and installation.
