Have you recently updated a Drives DTM and then opened an older project and see that the DTM Audit Tool identifies a difference in the DTM used in the project and the DTM on the PC?
How do you update the DTM in the project?
1. Remove and reinstall the device in the DTM browser. Not a good option as this requires capturing the configuration details and re entering them.
2. Change the IP address of the device instance. Build the project and change the IP address back to the original IP address.
This is very easy to do and will also update the DTM version. However when you have fifty instances configured this is very tedious.
3. Close the project and re open it. The DTM browser will run but not highlight any differences and hence will not show.
What does not work...
Export the project and re import it.
Action to date:
We have made requests for a simpler means to update the DTM instances. If you would like to add weight to this idea please visit ideas and like the subject "DTM Update Tool Improvement"
why is this marked as solved? is there a tool? to do it or are you stuck changing IP address on things (which doesn't appear to work for me)
This is NOT a solution as in some industries modifications of this type after the FAT / SAT would require them to be documented, validated, FAT and SAT completed. We need a solution that allows the user to select the option to update the DTM from the DTM Audit Tool and to explain if a Build or Rebuild all is required.
