Issue
StruxureWare Building Operation v1.1 does not support back-up, restore or upgrade operations between server types (AS, AS-L, AS-B, or ES).
Environment
StruxureWare Building Operation site v1.0 going to a v1.1
Cause
StruxureWare Building Operation v1.1 does not support back-up, restore or upgrade operations between server types(AS, AS-L, AS-B, or ES). It was also not supported in v1.0, but there was no check in place to prevent it, so it was possible to back-up, restore and upgrade between server types.
Resolution
This was changed in v1.1, and any backup file from one server type can only be restored to the same server type. Similarly any upgrade will only be successful if the database that is being upgraded was created in the same server type (Example AS-L to AS-L or AS-B to AS-B).
What this means to the field: If a configuration was done in the office on an early v1.0 AS (prior to there being AS-B’s or AS-L’s), then backed up and restored on site to a v1.0 AS-L or a v1.0 AS-B, the restore was possible and the site will operate fine until an attempt is made to upgrade to 1.1; then the upgrade will fail. Similarly, if engineering / configuration is accomplished on a v1.0 ASB, then backed up and restored on a v1.0 AS-L, the restore will work and the site will run fine until an attempt is made to
upgrade to v1.1; again, the upgrade will fail. If you have backed-up, upgraded or restored any server from another server type, do not attempt to upgrade the system to v1.1 without contacting Product Support for instructions on how to correct the database.
