I recently got the change batteries light on my RS1500 (the second time in 6 years). I changed out the batteries with fresh new ones and I still get the replace batteries light flashing. In fact , the unit cycle between an OK green light status, no battery and then replace bettery indicators. This is still the case even when I plug in the extra battery set, the BP24. I even swapped 2 of the good BP24 batteries with the old ones, since all are interchangeable - still no change. I am wondering if my electronics are bad and if I need to get a new unit. There doesn't seem to be any way to reset or repair the unit. I called customer service and they couldn't help, except to propose that I swap it out for a new unit. Any suggestions? If I buy a new unit, can I use the old batteries, the RBC33s, or I am stuck with them? The new retail units, like the BX1500G, don't seem to be compatible and don't use RBC33s.
