I recently checked the Power Event Summary for the APC SmartUPS 1500 and found it empty. We have had several power events, but nothing shows up. I even extended the date range out to a year and still received nothing in the summary.
I am a little concerned that I ACTUALLY have connection to the UPS from the server. The cable is in place and everything in the software says it's communicating, but an empty log speaks volumns.
Any ideas or guidance is appreciated.

Hello,
I would recommend brain-deading the UPS to re-enable communications and verify that there is actually an active port on either USB or Serial, whichever you prefer.
To do so, disconnect your entire load, and turn the UPS off. Remove all communications cables, and the power cable from the wall. Depress the test button for 4-6 seconds, all the LED's will flash momentarily and you will hear a click. The unit has been reset and both ports are active. At that point, I would re-connect whichever communication cable you are using, open up the Agent interface, pull the plug on the wall, and see if it records a power event.
