This is a complete rewrite:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TAC Vista Run Mode is developed to help control the TAC Vista Server.
It will show the current status of TAC Vista Server, and if the TAC Vista Server is stopped, it will give you the option to change the current run mode.
To the right you can enter the user credentials that should be used if you are setting the TAC Vista Server to run as a service.
In the user field, the local administrators will be listed if possible, but you can also type a username yourself if the desired username is not listed.
In "Shortcuts" you have easy access to the following two programs:
- TAC Vista Server Setup
- TAC Vista Workstation
In "Service Tools" you will find the following options:
- Set a delay on TACOS startup (If on Windows XP or 2003 Server)
- Make TACOS depend on the license server service (Only from Vista 5.1.7 and up)
- Make TACOS depend on the Loytec driver service
- See and set the startup type for the TACOS service
The tool will carry out the following operations in the background:
- Each time you switch between application and service, it will set DCOM as it would be if
you select the last of the three options in "DCOM Config".
- When switching to service, it will check if a Loytec driver is present, check if it's set to
run as a service, a prompt you for action if not.
- When stopping TACOS, it will check if any processes related to OPC Server for Danduc
is running, and prompt you to automatically stop them.

This is great! We've been using it for some time now, and a thought I would suggest implementation of lic server dependence but I see you already did!
Is there a special reason for it not to work with vista <5.1.7 ?
Thanks!

Hmm... Yes - and I can't remember why
What I remember is that only from a given version lmadmin will actually start to report the correct status (running/stopped), but if you can confirm that the dependency is actually working in a previous version, tell me which, and I'll lower it to that.

Probably one of your best tools Benji, its one of the first items installed on a new machine, every one of our techs uses/loves it.
One question/request, would you consider adding a button at the top just like "Vista Server Setup" but to launch Vista Workstation? That's one thing I've had come back a few times from the field, with that stopping/switching/starting the database and launching Workstation could all be done 1-2-3-4 without bigging back to the desktop or navigating the start menu to locate Vista Workstation.
Thanks again for all your tools! Every one is installed on all machines, they've made setup/maintenance/management so much easier, and have saved so many hours of configuration, searching and adjusting. (can't go without mentioning Dialogue Position Reset... I don't know how many times a day/week I need to thank you for that one.)

WOW! It's not very often I get feedback, and even more rare to get this kind... I truly value your words, and appreciate it a lot!
As per your request, I've added TAC Vista Workstation to the shortcuts menu. Let me know if that implementation is what you had in mind
Thanks again, and have a great day!

Wow, I didn't expect that kind of turnaround lol, but that's exactly what I had in mind.
Already installed, linked and deployed for sync on all our machines, I'm sure the techs are going to appreciate it as much as I do.
Thanks Benji! Looking forward to whatever you come up with next that I didn't even know I needed!
