Hi Ronald,
typically the air exhausted from an infectious isolation room will be exhausted externally to avoid any cross contamination.
However with the hospitals we have worked with some designs have allowed the air to be recirculated provided they are scrubbed/cleaned through a HEPA systems. this should be discussed with the infection control teams, facility team and mechanical designers
