A big thank you to Jim Okapal for this question.  I wanted to answer on the community so everyone can see it.

Q: Will the <feature name> = smartxip will be automatically added to our licenses on the Niagara community or if we’ll be sent them through email?

A:  You will be able to download the updated license through the License Admin in the platform connection.  I am anticipating you will also receive a copy of the updated license emailed to you from the Niagara Licensing Server.

It will be interesting but I had to manually install mine.  I have a weird lashup ( to Tridium's Lic Server) in this domain so things don't always work as expected.
