I have mounted the sensor on the wall 160 cm above the floor pointing directly at my desk at the office.
I am sitting 280 cm away from the sensor.
I have set the sensitivity on the cccupancy sensor to 100%
I have to move around quit a lot to get the sensor to detect anything.
If I just sit at the desk typing on the keyboard it doesn't detect anything at all.
Anyone who knows the perfect way to mount the sensor ? I can't find it in the documentation at all.
There is a document called "SmartX Living Space Sensor Button and Occupancy Covers" (F-28092-1) that provides some suggestions and best mounting examples. Perhaps that will help.
Would you happen to know how and where to obtain said document?
Here you go: SmartX Button and Occupancy Covers_F-28092-1.pdf
Stupid me... was looking at the download center for documentation on an unreleased product 🙂
Thanks Bill!
I know the document.
I tried to mount it in the height (1,35 m above floor) specified in the document. That didn't help at all.
But, I also read that the reason the detection isn't very good is because it is a normal PIR sensor which doesn't detect small movements. It needs movements across the beams, so it wont detect people sitting at there tables working, unless they move around. But, maybe we just need to secure that we program a delay off = 15 minutes or more.
