The SCADAPack 47x datasheet (copy attached) lists the maximum number of expansion modules at 15. This is in the "Additional I/O" section near the bottom of page 6. Also, see note 7 at the bottom of the page about the possible requirement for additional power supplies.
A solid-state 5606 requires 400 mA, which at 5 volts on the bus is 2 watts. A relay version requires 600 mA, which is 3 watts. The 474's internal power supply could power one of the relay modules, or two of the solid-state type. Beyond that, external power supply would be required. The model 5103 power supply can provide 5 Vdc to the bus at 2 amps, or 10 watts total. So you'd need several 5103's to power 15 x 5606's.
Our new 6103 power supply, due to be released this month, has the same output capacity, but one additional benefit. It includes a 16-pin output bus connector for 5000 series modules, so there is no need to add a 20-to-16-pin adapter.
