[import] Proper Stream ID Use with Licensed E Series Repeaters

This is a re-posting from the obsoleted (October 2018) "Schneider Electric Telemetry & SCADA" forum.

There is a recommended method to set up your system for the use of a repeater. This system can however cause some trouble under certain circumstances.
First I'll talk about how to set up the system "normally," then discuss the alternative method._**

When setting up a licensed Trio system to include a repeater, it is possible to configure the system in such a way that the initiating station hears its own message echoed back. This is never a good thing. Here's an example of the normal way to avoid this problem:

Rx SID = 2 --- Repeat Range -- Rx SID = 1
Tx SID = 1 ----- (1 to 2) ----- Tx SID = 2

When the Repeater re-sends a message from the Master it leaves SID 1 attached. The Master itself is listening for SID 2 and thus ignores this message. When the Repeater re-sends a message from the Remote it leaves SID 2 attached. (added by the Remote) The Remote is listening for SID 1 and so ignores this message.

The only problem with this system comes when the Remote radio can sometimes hear both the Repeater and the Master. This should theoretically not happen but radio waves can be fickle. Under such a situation the Remote RTU would receive a message from the Master twice, first directly then through the Repeater. This could cause significant confusion. In such a case the Translate feature may instead be used.

Rx SID = 2 --- Translate 1 to 3 ---- Rx SID = 3
Tx SID = 1 --- Translate 4 to 2 ---- Tx SID = 4

With the configuration above, even if the Remote radio hears the Master's transmission directly, it will ignore it as the SID's are incorrect.
