The DNP Outstation And DNP Master Diagnostics dialogs in Telepace are extremely handy in watching DNP messages coming and going to/from the SCADAPack controller. Would love to see this in RemoteConnect.
The SCADAPack x70 and RemoteConnect have more diagnostics capabilities than any other product SCADA & Telemetry has done before so you should already be able to do what you've requested.
Here's a brief summary. Please check the user manual that comes with RemoteConnect as I reference it below as the "SCADAPack x70 Documentation Set".
There are Command Line diagnostics. SCADAPack x70 Documentation Set: SCADAPack 470 Hardware Manual > Diagnostics >Accessing Diagnostics
And there are System Data Groups that can be monitored from within RemoteConnect. For example: SCADAPack x70 Documentation Set: SCADAPack Operations Technical Reference > System Data > Communication Statistics > SYS_StatsDNP3: DNP3 Masters Statistics.
Thank you Martin. I've read the manual sections you mentioned and some other sections as well. It does appear that there are some very detailed diagnostics available. However, it does not appear that there is anywhere you can monitor in real time as DNP3 messages are being transmitted and received by the controller, from which remote station they are coming from or going to, and whether those messages were successful or not. I believe that many customers would appreciate this feature as it was a very handy troubleshooting tool on the Telepace SCADAPacks when network communications had issues.
Although I am assured by my colleagues in tech support that this is currently possible using the Command Line (CMD) feature or Telnet and an additional terminal program like Putty, I am no expert on this topic. I would recommend that you contact our support group for clarification, and I will re-open this request and submit it for consideration if it turns out that we do not support exactly what you are requesting.
