Hello,
At a customer site i have 2 PM8000 devices with the phasor diagram showing an ACB rotation
When Changing the parameter via the Web interface from ABC to ACB this has no influence on the phasor diagram, shouldn’t this change then to the ABC rotation?
Second question, what happens when this parameter is not correctly set? errors in PME?
Can this parameter also be set in IONsetup? I can't find it there...
Br,
Koen
Hi Koen,
I think that Phase Order parameter is suppose to be used in Phase Reversal Unary Alarm detection, but it's not used in PM8000 like in PM5000:
The standard ION Setup Assistant does not expose all available registers to most users (in this case, this is a wiring issue which should of been caught during meter installation). You can view the setup registers by switching into Advanced ION Setup view (Device Properties -> Tools -> Show Advanced Setup) and going into the Power Meter modules and modifying the appropriate setup register.
While you could start swapping polarity registers, we don't recommend this as showing "software" fixed phasors may create safety concerns when servicing the device at a later time. Another option is you can alter the phasor rotation in ION Setup but this is a global setting which affects all phasor viewers for every device that ION Setup communicates with (Tools -> Options -> Conventions).
Hi Koen,
Just a remark that phasing is not standardized across Distribution Systems. For three phase generation, the phase sequence and the direction of rotation must be coordinated with a local Distribution System.
So, If you see ACB, it doesn't mean that it is a wrong phase rotation.
Best regards,
Bojan
Hello Bojan,
Indeed this is not always in our hands, the meter is correct wired in the cabinet phase 1, 2, 3 but rotation is different sometimes. I was wondering if the phase rotation parameter has some influence on the alarms in PME. i have changed them but i don't see any difference on alarms... If it is there it should have some reason...

Koen
Hi Koen,
It would trigger Phase Rotation alarm in PM5000 meter if enabled, but I'm not sure for PME.
PME has configurable Alarms, but the phase rotationerror event has to be triggered by the meter, and I think PM8000 has no such alarm.
