We have force all alarms OFF and acknowledged all alarms current and historical on a PM8000 meter with a remote display and yet the RED LED on the meter face refuses to extinguish. It is solid red.
We performed the same steps on three meters at our building and were able to get the LED to go out.
The one at the customer site will not go out.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Michael
Brian:
We disable and cleared all alarms. The LED persisted. We did swap out the display and
the issue followed the display to another meter. The display itself is the problem and
not the meter.
Working on an RMA from Schneider so they can replace the unit and get this on into the
lab for testing.
Thanks,
Michael
Is there any remains activated alarm in the current alarm list ?
In my experience, if there has any alarm still activate, the led will stay at solid RED
All alarms are force OFF and everything acknowledged.
Hi there Michael.
Could you please open a tech support case for this. Tech support will log into the meter and issue some factory commands which checks the status of the alarms through firmware.
Another test that would be of benefit is to swap a RMD from a unit that has the LED off with the one that has it on.
Out of curiosity, if an alarm is triggered, then cleared (so the alarms are in the historical section, without being acknowledged) the light should be steady on, does it go to this state, or does it go out.
Either way lets get a customer support case opened up with the above information, and I will assist with getting this resolved.

Ah yes, I was working on that with Steven, I look forward to seeing the unit here at our facility.

We are working on getting an RMA with Graybar for the display...oh poodles
Whatever your normal RMA procedure is is fine. I m pretty sure it will cross my desk at some point.
When they give you an RMA number let me know and I will put some notes in
Brian:
We did the RMA. Somehow it came in for the whole meter and not just the display. Only the display had a problem. Just looked on the Graybar desk. The box is still here. Hope it gets back to your team soon.
Michael
I was thinking about this the other day. Looking forward to seeing it, a most interesting puzzle.
I emailed the Graybar person who is handling this and hope to hear back soon.
Likely the display just has a bad IC feeding the LED or a bad solder joint on the
board somewhere.
thank,
Michael.
Brian:
Graybar promised it would be shipped out last Friday. Should be home soon.
Thanks,
Michael
It is just on no matter what we do...even with all alarms disabled and acknowledged it is on.
