Hello,
Is it possible to map a modbus register to a digital input ?
Thanks
François
I am assuming you are asking if it is possible to map the detected input status of one of the ION7650's digital inputs into an available Modbus register that can be read via Modbus?
If so, the answer is yes. This can be done via the Advanced ION view (or alternatively using ION Designer in PME). You would need to connect the one of the Digital Input modules output (one of which you have correctly assigned the port setup register to the desired hardware port) and feed that output into an input of a newly created Convert module (this is to alter the Boolean output of the digital input to a numeric value (0 or 1). Subsequently you would then connect the Convert output to the input of one of the Modbus Slave modules (or create a new one if available) and assign an appropriate starting register and register format.
You should then be able to use a Modbus master and poll that register and should return a value of 0 or 1 indicating the status of the digital input.
