Does anyone have experience in configuring a 7650's alert module to send out email alarm notifications when a pulse is received?
Looking specifically for help in steps needed to map the input to an alarm.
Hi Kevin
I have not actually done this particular type of alert myself, but looking at the Digital Input and the Alert modules it seems relatively straightforward.
First off, you need to make sure that your ION7550 has a SMTP server configured.
Access your meter using ION Setup.
Open the Setup Assistant. Go to Communications > Network settings and fill out the SMTP server info.
Access your meter with ION Setup Advanced mode by CTRL-clicking on your meter.
Go to the Alert Modules folder
Right-click and select Insert Module
Double-click the new Alert module to access the registers
On the Inputs tab select Trigger and click Edit.
Navigate to the Digital In modules, select the digital input you want (such as DI-S1) and select the Trig output (DI-S1Trig)
Configure the setup registers as described in the Alert Module > Details of Operation > Alerting via email
Test by triggering the digital input and making sure you get an email.
Here is a link to the Alert module in the ION Reference
You can also access the whole ION Reference from Available Publications (and get information about the other ION modules) with this link:

The easiest way I've found is to use a setpoint module which creates an "on" trigger which you can use to trigger the alert. To test I use a pulse merge module and merge an external trigger and and the setpoint module into the alert trigger. Hope that helps.
If not, give me a bit more info and I'll see what I can do.
