Oil for the DWT0001 (or STP660) pocket sensor to prevent problems with condensation

What Oil can be used for the DWT0001 pocket sensor to prevent problems with condensation?

Condensation causes the temperature sensor to corrode.

Pocket sensor

Cooling Condensation

If a pipe sensor pocket is mounted incorrectly on a cooling system condensation can build up in the pocket and corrode the sensor.

  1. Cooling system sensor pockets should be mounted at an angle to prevent condensation building up in the pocket.  See datasheet for the DWT0001, click here.  For the STP660 click here.
  2. The recommended oil to use is either  ‘Fina 'Solco' AC43 or Shell 'Dialo Oil B'.
