Re: Is it possible to use VSD as a power supply for the CNC machines?

Are you think to use a VSD for a single phase to three phase converter?

In general, I would not recommend this approach.  VSDs are quite complex devices, and generally expect certain things from their field systems (i.e. short circuits incredibly unlikely, thermal model equivalent to a large lump of steel, inductive loads).

If you are disconnecting loads suddenly (as would happen if a CNC machine is switching its own 240/415 power) the VSD will likely trip or produce unreliable voltages/frequencies.

A VSD is really a 'Variable Speed Drive', it's not intended for us as a power supply.
