Hi,
We have a UPS Ellipse 650 that supports our file server. Due to a recent break-in we decided to take our server home. The unit was working fine before I switched it off and removed the server plug.
Upon my return to set the server back up, the unit would not switch on. If I hold the power button in, everything works but the switch will not hold and therefore shuts everything down once released.
The monitor is still plugged in and though the unit is not switched on, power is still being transferred to the monitor allowing it to be switched on.
Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a simple malfunction of the power switch?
Please excuse my ignorance on this but it has never been something that I have paid attention to as it has always worked perfectly.
Thanks in advance
David

Hi David,
Do you have the exact model and serial number of the unit? If you do can you post it here or PM me?
From my understanding, the monitor is connected on the UPS and it is receiving power but not those that are on the battery side and the UPS would not turn on. Have you tried changing the battery with a good one? It would be helpful as well if you could tell us LED and audible indicators that your UPS is producing.
