i'm using a RS1500 ups to supply backup power to some electric roller blinds and curtains, they require backup because they cover doorways so need to allow people to exit the building in case of power fail/fire etc.
i've googled around and found the data port should supply a 'on battery' signal that i can use to activate my blind/curtain controls and make them open when the power fails.
Using a CS650 ups i've verified that pins 7 (signal ground) and 2 (on battery) on the data port shows about 12v when the power is cut, but the RS1500 i need to use does not do this it seems.
I found this doc, but it only refers to the old style DB9 ports, not the newer 10 pin RJ50 style
can anyone offer any help getting me a power fail switch/signal line from the RS1500 unit?
