Due to given installation space constrains our BE550G-GR
should be installed vertically, not a wall, but on a shelf and vertically.
The appliance's back plate has pairs of mounting holes, one along the short side,
and one along the long side. Can this device been be mounted that way, the long side with
main switch facing up and the pair of mounting holes along side facing down?

Hi,
I may be mistaken because I have not seen one of those units in some time but I think there are cooling vents on each side of the UPS. If there are vents you should not cover those vents. If the unit does not have cooling vents than you can place it on its side.
