I've a question, perhaps somebody has realise it in past and has an answer.
For a new project I want to know if such as a PCI alarm card exists. It should work like this: If an alarm reach GeoSCADA then this alarm PCI card should be triggered and switch an analog output over relay (12V or something). We want to connect the PC with a lamp or a horn.
I would be very happy it somebody has an idea!!
Thanks and best regards!
I think if you had such a card it would be difficult to integrate it into GeoSCADA Expert (without going via OPC).
You could do this with just a serial port device. You could have GeoSCADA Expert call a SYSTEM command to send a character to the serial port to turn on the alarm, and then another to turn it off again.
OR... you could just get a nice cheap ModbusTCP Advantech (or similar) module which would run on 12V, and then you could just configure GeoSCADA Expert to talk ModbusTCP to it, and write to the coil to turn on the siren / lamp etc.
I would get something like an Moxa ioLogix E1200 series device, it is Ethernet Modbus and use its output to control the horn.
I would just use a digital output connected to a interposing relay that would complete the circuit to the lamp and/or horn.
You can write an ST program that checks the Main/Root for alarm status and then control the output, I have done something like this at the instance level.
