Hi.
I recently performed a template change on an instance but historic data got lost.
Is there any other way to recover data other than performing a backup load?
Thank you

No once ClearSACDA retires a point ID it deletes the history for it.
It should keep the history when you Convert a instance to another template, the structures of the templates have to be the same. Like group names and point names are identical. I have one customer that we do this to replace Modbus based templates with DNP based templates. I just right click on the instance and select Convert to Instance of and their history is kept for the points we want to preserve.
I guess it is possible your version of ClearSCADA has a glitch.

So the only way to recover is to restore a backup of the database folder. If you import a export you made the point IDs are not included in a Export. If you have been backing up the Database folder the database configuration (including point IDs) and history will be recoverable.
