G'day experts!
Config:
Geo SCADA version: 2020 September
OS: MS Server 2019
Is it a (seemingly undocumented) design feature of Geo SCADA that the list will not function correctly after Mimic 1 is embedded in Mimic 2?
When I view Mimic 1, the list works as intended. However, Mimic 2 shows the list as a white box and red cross like this:
Edit: for some reason I can't embed and image? here is an indicative sample (minus the "image" text):

Please confirm this behavior is expected?
Thanks in advance,
vds

Hi @vds ,
This is a known limitation of ClearSCADA / GeoSCADA unfortunately.
Embedded queries cannot be placed on embedded mimics and still work.
The work around is to find a way to place the embedded query on the top level overview.

Hi @BevanWeiss,
thanks for confirming... I wonder if it's a technical limitation or an artificial one to prevent abusing resources etc. Either way, I'm very sad 😢
cheers,
vds
I suspect it's a bit of both.
There is a feature request in the Schneider system for this already, so you could get in contact with your local Tech Support and request another 'vote' on behalf of end-users/customers for this feature.
As embedded queries do have quite a performance impact, I can understand that it would be more difficult to handle them in regards to embedded mimics, and maintaining a consistent subscription list (since embedded mimics can be shared across instances etc, this would make the subscription situation trickier).
