Is it possible to add or modify a trace dynamically to an embedded trend. I would like to embed a trend within a mimic that has parameters. I want to open this mimic as a popup when I click a value on the parent display, I can pass the parameter to this popup using a pick action and populate data on text boxes and other objects, but not for a trend. I don't see a way to configure a trace using a parameter.
I am sure I am missing something here. Can anyone tell me how this is done?
PS: The work around as of now I thought about is embedding this popup and the trend within the template. I am able to achieve the end result, but I really like the idea of being able to use 1 mimic (instead of embedding it) and dynamically passing parameters.
Unfortunately embedded trends are very static items. So as far as I'm aware, there is no way to change what pens they reference.
For 'normal' trends, there is a mechanism known as TrendSpec which essentially allows you to create an ad-hoc trend by passing in certain parameters via a custom 'HyperLink'. But once created, there's no way to dynamically alter the content of even these trends programmatically (only the user can do it via design mode changes).
It might be worth raising an Improvement Request with your particular use case included in this Exchange platform (there is a forum specifically for Geo SCADA Ideas)
