I can often see reference to "VOC sensors".

Could you please explain what it is?

The SpaceLogic SLA and SLP Series of air quality sensors are for use with Third party as well as EcoStruxure SpaceLogic BMS con­trollers. The series are available with air quality sensors including  solid state Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) sensors. VOCs are a wide range of carbon based (organic) chemicals (compounds) found in various man-made and naturally occurring solids and liquids. They evaporate easily at ordinary room temperature which is why they are termed volatile. Most scents or odors are of VOCs. Some VOCs are dangerous to human health or cause harm to the environment. Respiratory, allergic, or immune effects in infants or children are associated with man-made VOCs and other indoor or outdoor air pollutants. The VOC sensor from Schneider Electric have an output range of 0 to 100% AQI, with scale of 0 to 1000 ppb of total VOC (TVOC) and an accuracy of +/- 15% of measured value.
