A customer wants to set up a specific proxy configuration between the DCO client and the server (each on two different networks). It's working for the web client, because the IEbrowser is using a proxy.pac configuration file.
Is it possible to set something similar up for the DCO client?
Or is the "only" option to:Setting proxy (and firewall) to allow/route incoming http/s on 80/443 to DCO

As you've pointed out desktop client may use port 80/443 to communicate with sever (StruxureWare Data Center Operation Network Firewall Port Details).
If the Proxy server permits the traffic between client and server, perhaps "Network proxy settings" (on the workstation) could be configured to route through the "proxy server".
