Unable to change temperature value from F to Celsius

Hi,

How do I change temperature sensor value to Degree Celsius in DCO. Currently it is showing Fahrenheit. The temp/humidity sensor is directly connected to RPDU.

I saw the topic below, but unfortunately changing the from US to Metric doesn't work for me.

Hi Stefano,

Additional to your illustrated settings (in desktop client, Tools > Preferences > General), measurement units in DCO (and ITA) are appearing according to the settings selected by the operation system on the client's computer. The 'Region' control panel allows user to select these settings:

thank you so much for your suggestion, looks like the settings are the same (except some italian word), it's very strange

cause on the same workstation DCO shows F° and DCE C°

Hi Stefano,

You are most welcome & many thanks for the useful illustrations.
That's a different scenario. The units in the alarm description filed are independent of the desktop settings.
This is the way DCE reports alarms and alarm descriptions to DCO. DCO dose not translate the alarm descriptions and will display as they are.

Hi Stefano,

Yes, you can try that.

Apparently your DCE server regional settings might be in US or something and you might want to change it to something like English (METRIC).
It can be done via DCE desktop client, System > Server Administration Settings > Time Settings , and then under "Regional Settings" change the Server Local to English (METRIC).

Then the Alarms notifications (reported from DCE) would be in Metric in DCO.

Hi Jef,

great! I tried to set English METRIC but after the server restart the configuration didn't change ( tried 3 times ).

Could be a bug? I will try to upgrade DCE version from 7.7.1.40 to 7.8.0.47, probably it will solve it.

Hi Crew,

I completed the DCE upgrade, but unfortunately the issue is still there.

I tried to change locale setting to English Metric or Italian couple of times but after the server restart, English US comes back into configuration menu.

Any suggestions?

Hi @Stefano  I just realized that the issue which you want to resolve is on the DCO client for the alarms that are received from the DCE server not on the DCE desktop client itself. As per your screen shot, you are already able to see the DCE temperature unit in Celsius, but you are seeing the temperature alarms in Fahrenheit. Let me also investigate and I will let you know if I find something for you soon. Thanks!

thank you so much!

Actually I am able to see C° as shown on the screen shot, because I changed the configuration from DCE client side.

File -> Client Preferences -> Client Language Settings -> Select Language -> English - Metric

Server side if I change the time settings in the System menu from US to Metric, after reboot the locale configuration show back US.

Please let me know if your suspicions are well founded... after the investigation on DCO client of course.

Hi @Stefano I am sorry for the delay. I was able to change the Server Locale to English Metric without an issue in DCE, and then I was able to receive the temperature alarms in Celsius on DCO as well. So It looks like that the issue which you are experiencing needs to be investigated in depth. I suggest you to contact our regional customer care team/FSR to analyze the issue further so that they can collect the required details to provide further recommendation.
