We are using an Enviromux device as a back up for temperature monitoring in some of our smaller computer rooms. I want to be able to place the temperature sensors on a rack in DCO but am having issues creating a device that can be mounted on the rack, not in a rack.
I have tried modifying a rack 0RU PDU and mounting the sensor on the side of a rack but the modified PDU still shows as 1400 long.
There are "Device Sensors" attached to the racks that are associated with InRow Coolers and PDUs but they are not in the Genoms.
There are also APC Temperature and Humidity sensors in the Genomos but all of them are 1RU and changing the Genome to 0RU and Left or Righ rear mounted makes no change.
Any help would be appreciated

Not sure how to account for the physical asset in DCO,. Perhaps you could allow it to be mounted on the top of the rack, at least that way it's in the "asset DB". The temp sensor reading on the other hand can be placed on a rack in the DCO layout exactly where the probe is physically located on the rack.
1. Is it being monitored by DCE?
2. DCE integrated with DCO as an external system?
3. the probe visible in Device Association?
4. The temp sensor and it's value visible underneath the device?
If all those things OK, drag and drop the sensor to the rack location. If 1&2 are good but #4 isn't, that's usually a mod required to the DDF for DCE to expose the temp sensor to DCO in a very specific manner for DCO to "see it".
Hope all that helps

It is being monitored by DCE and the appliance is associated as an external system. The issue is that the sensors are mounted remotely and the only way that I can find of mounting them is to place them in the rack, in an RU. I have configured the Gnome AP9335T to be able to be mounted on the Top, left or Right Rear. I have set the Width, Height and Depth to 100mm with hight at 0RU. I can then mount it in a rack but it's not visible. If I set the hight to 1RU then it will only mount in a rack unit, not on top or anywhere else.
Is there a way to mount a device on the top of a rack or even on a wall?

Makes sense. You have to set the mount options for the device to include "top" (of rack). Not sure if you can do this for devices already in the model or you have to do it for the Genomes entry then place a new device.
I believe you can also places sensors on the wall if you require.

If you are using DCO 8.3, there is also the possibility of using the new vertical u position feature in racks where you can create vertical U slots to the left or right rack sides and place a device there ... in this case you'd avoid consuming a rack U slot which counts against capacity reports.
Info regarding vertical U positions can be found here: https://sxwhelpcenter.ecostruxureit.com/display/UADCO8x/Adding+rack-mountable+equipment+to+the+room+...
