Hello,
I was thinking about a system which will update through ssh CLI cmd the date&time of the Rack Monitor NetBotz 250.
The system will have to input the date&time regularly to be sure they are well synchronised.
Note: NTP usage has be rejected;
However, I cannot estimate what this period should be. I did not find any answer in the provided documentation.
Do you know what is the time after which the date&time of the Rack Monitor NetBotz 250 drifts from the one input previously ?
Do you have a recommended period to refresh the date&time ?
I thank you in advance.
Raphaël
Hi @rf2019 ,
Sorry but there's no documentation on how much of a drift it has. As previously mentioned, NTP would be the best option but if you're unable to use the current NTP options for whatever reason, I would simply recommend using the standard NTP refresh settings which I believe it 2 weeks. I believe it can go as low as every minute but I would not recommend a script adjusting the time on the unit that often.
Please note that this is not a scientific device and if it were to drift a second or so in the 2 week period it's set to update normally, there's nothing on the device that is that critical and events could take more time than that to send via trap or e-mail so being that sensitive to time may be more trouble than it's worth.
Thanks,
Steve
