we have an installation with DCE 7.8 and ITA 9.0.4. We have wired temperature and humidity sensors connected to the rack PDUs and we show them in ITA 3D view. But with the wireless sensors connected to a Netbotz we do not see them in 3D view and do not appear when it calculates the measured CFD. We do not have data above the racks that have wireless sensors associated. In the floor plan view and the rack view we see the sensors with their measures, but in 3D they do not appear.
I have attached some pictures of a rack named Exadata where there are two wireless sensors:
Can I ask for a copy of the backup file + server logs that be shared with me safely via my =S= box. I will send you an invite to my =S= box shortly, just in case if you would provide data, thanks.
Many thanks, I will take a look and will get back to you as soon as possible.
It seems those temperature sensors have been disconnected and therefore cannot be displayed in 3D view.
If we take a look at the associations in the Navigation, we can notice that it says 'Lost 2 associated devices):
If the device/sensor has changed ID/re-discovered, then it may need to be re-added/re-associated in DCO.
To un-associate the current sensors from the rack, in Planning Device Association, right click on rack (EXADATA) and then select 'Unassociate from equipment'.
We have the same problem in another rack, AV11. In this rack wireless sensors do not appear as Lost Associated. I have unassociated and associated again sensors in rack Exadata as you suggested and we have the problem again. In both racks wireless sensors do not appear in CDF view.
Both rack's wireless sensors are connected to the same Netbotz 750, and in IT Advisor it says Unknown Netbotz SNMP agent,
That seems to point me to right/another direction. By comparing the temperature sensors that show up in 3D view vs. the one that doesn't, sounds like a DDF related issue.
The temperature sensors that show up in 3D view, they have value_type as FLOAT
But the temperature sensor in rack AV 11 appears to have value_type as Integer, which doesn't show up in 3D view
So I think you may need to request for new ddf, apply the new ddf, rediscover the items/sensors (in DCE), and finally re-associate in DCO
Hi @Jef ,
we have installed the specific Netbotz 750 DDF v17 in DCE and now we do not see any wireless sensor in Unassociated Devices View. Without this specific DDF we saw the sensors in that view and we could associate them in the 2D view.
I am going to request a new DDF version.
I keep you informed.
