Hi,
We are offering a Netbotz 250 for a small 2 racks server room. I was wondering if it is possible for the Smoke Sensor to detect smoke and activate the relay output. The relay output will be connected to the actuator supply and it will release the Fire agent. In this way we can eliminate the Fire Alarm Control Panel for this site and save cost. Or if we can use the temperature sensor to do it.
Any suggestions regarding this? Is it workable and safe? Is it recommended?
Hi @Adeel_Tahir ,
It is very possible to have a Netbotz smoke sensor detect smoke and activate the relay output. However, it may be a better idea to connect a dry contact to an existing Building Smoke sensor in the room and have that activate the relay instead. Remember Netbotz Smoke sensor are for installation inside of IT racks. So if this is to extinguish the room it would make sense to integrate into the building smoke sensor in my opinion.

Kevin
Hello, I believe it's not safe as the product is not a certified fire suppression system and (as I think) it should be even restricted by the local regulations to implement such systems. A possible accident may cost lives. Please ask the person responsible for fire protection on the site. Regards/Andrey
