A customer is asking: How can we determine how many racks can be fitted into our data center room? The racks would be placed in rows.
As a current work-around, they are placing racks on the floor and then tagging the unused racks. But that uses up rack licenses on empty racks.
Is there a smarter way to achieve this?
The customer is using DCO 8.1 Co-lo

Perhaps looking at the "Room Area" (or Cage area) in Colo overlay might give us some indication of rooms rack capacity (1 rack approximately = 1 m2)

Christian Riis, work around to your work around ... to reserve rack space without using rack license:
Model block or fire panel, but reduce the height to say 10mm, so it does not affect DCO's cooling calculation too much.Give it a name, or tag, so you can still identify it.
