We recently added our first NMC3-based device (SRT3000RMXLA-NC) into our StruxureWare DCE instance.
I ran Check Updates within DCE's Apply Firmware Updates dialog but it's not finding any device updates for this device type.
Are these supported in DCE at this point? If so, is there something special I need to do to get these updates on the server?
You can download the DCE Firmware Catalog file from the link below. It should contain the latest firmware for NMC3 (Smart-UPS and Symmetra LX)
To upload the file, login to the DCE thick client, then go to Updates > Apply Firmware Updates > Import. note that the file should be .zip format which would be the same format when you download.
I imported that zip but still don't see the update package in the list. But I think what's going on is that we don't have any devices that need that update so that's why it's not showing up.
It would definitely be nice if that Apply Firmware Updates dialog had a way to toggle between showing just devices that need firmware updates and showing all devices. This is one example of when this would be helpful. The other case is when you're adding a bunch of devices and want to make sure they all have their firmware updated. It would be nice to just see them all in this list vs. having to cross-reference the Device View to find out that the ones that aren't showing here do - in fact - have the latest firmware.
