Hello DCIM support team,
A new DC virtual machine was created in version 7.8.0. Approximately, 500 nodes were discovered and configured; but when I try to launch a device the below error is showed:
Something important to highlight is that I have the issue in all the devices… the devices are RPDU, PDUs, UPS (Symmetra PX500) , A/C (InRow). All the devices are from Schneider - APC. also, all the devices were discovered using SNMP v1.
The DCE has two network adapters, the public adapter to get access to the server and the private LAN to get access to all the nodes.
Troubleshooting:
Additionally, a network specialist verified the data traffic and net activity. they used a software to verify the data activity in the network. also, they verified the data traffic that pass in the firewall. we did some test, but it was not possible to launch device from DCE. The specialist verified that is not a firewall issue and network.
Please your support or advises to resolve this issue.
regards
Luis Lopez - FSR from SE CR

Hi,
Just sharing my case here:
1. I used Private LAN Network A with 192.168.1.x initially and disabled DHCP at Network A.
2. The user suggested changing Network A IP to 10.2.x.x. I changed this IP range at Network A.
3. DCE can ping all devices at Network A, But it cannot launch the device from DCE.
4. I was advised to use Network B with the IP 10.2.x.x and remain network A to 192.168.1.x. Note that Network A and Network B are both in Private LAN.
5. I also enabled DHCP in Network A. It seems that the device launch is working - suspect changing DHCP on / off could do the trick but don't know why.
6. I kept the setting of Network A with DHCP in 192.168.1.x, and Network B with IP range given by the user (10.2.x.x.).
Do note that Public LAN and Private LAN IP range shall not overlap with each other.
BR,
TJ

Hello Tjlaw and DCIM support team
I followed your procedure step by step but the “launch device” option continue without work. According your advice, I did additional tests related with the network parameters, change devices network, activate DHCP, enable the network B etc etc. Also, I change the configuration to use internal or external web browser to launch device. Also, I changed the port to launch device (80 /443) etc etc.
Something important to highlight is: this is a migration from a DCE appliance version (Enterprise) to Virtual machine. In the physically server the launch device works without any issue and when I did the migration in the new virtual server this option does not work properly.
Does a software bug in the DCE virtual machine? Or is something related with the server configuration or device setting that is missing?

Hi Luis,
I re-checked my settings on the Private LAN 2, the Network A (192.168.1.x) 's DHCP was Disabled, DHCP Discovery was Disabled. Network B was configured with 10.2.x.x range.
In my case, it's an AP9465 appliance.
I would suggest you log a case to your local support and see if they can help in this issue by providing the relevant logs.

Hi TJlaw
Thanks a lot for your feedback but I am “the local support” … I am a Schneider DCIM engineer for CAM. I asked my issue in this forum because I did many steps to resolve the issue without good results. Also, I checked the DCE logs…
regards,
LUIS
