We often have issues adding devices into our DCE 220.127.116.11 and it we be great if we could view the log file that contains what the failure is. i.e. invalid passphrase, user, etc.

I totally agree that it would be helpful to have a log that explains discovery failures or reasons for lost comm with devices. Sadly however, such a log does not exist. You can give feedback here and make an enhancement request but as the page notes, it is not a promise if or even when such a feature might make it into the system:
