Hello everybody,
A customer has a DCE version 7.2.0 with a Netbotz 570 updated to the latest version. There is a problem, communication is lost for a few minutes and only 30 seconds is normal.
We tested with the DCE virtual machine demo and discovered the same Netbotz, after 5 days of testing and there is no alarm or failure.
Do you think updating DCE to the latest version to fix this problem?
Hi @jesus_banegas_g ,
I can't say that the upgrade would solve the issue but there have been numerous fixes an enhancements since 7.2. That's pretty old. If the new deployment was on the same VM host (assuming the 7.2 was also a VM), then it would appear to indeed be system specific to that deployment. If it's a hardware server or VM, it could still be network. Either way, I can't promise 7.8 will fix it but that's definitely the best place to start.
You can also try rebooting the DCE server. Not sure how frequently this issue occurs but if the issue takes a while to start up again after the reboot, it could have something to do with the current DCE's load or how many systems it's monitoring.
Thanks for trying to help me, but this method not working to me.
Hi @Ranson1 ,
DCE communicates to the NetBotz appliance using http or https (depends on your configuration). If the appliance is staying on-line (not defined in your comments) then it is likely a networking issue. If you've tested this server and a trial VM and have the same issue, that would seem to also point to a network issue.
Try moving the NetBotz to the same network segment as DCE if not already there.
If using http, try changing the discovery to use https.
In Advanced view under Tools--> Advanced, you also have the option to use "Post Only Mode. Instead of DCE polling the device, the device will post information, This may help in the case of firewalls causing this type of issue.
If you believe it to be the NetBotz appliance, you may also want to disconnect everything from the 570 and reset it to defaults using the configreset command. Just e-IP it nothing else and test that way.
