Good day all
We would like to add netbotz 550 external sensors to the default notification policy. Is there anyway that we can do that? i would like to set thresholds and customise each sensor.
Is this possible.
Currently, i have configured these settings by right clicking the device - netbotz appliance configuration>Alert thresholds> and selecting sensors. After following all the prompts i do not receive e-mails. I presume that these sensors are not in the default notification policy.
Your assistance is much appreciated

In general, NetBotz-4.x appliance is absolutely independent device from DCE-server.
This means, that in order for you to be able to receive any notifications about the status of external sensors, that are connected to particular NetBotz-4.x appliance, all the relevant settings need to be done on this particular NetBotz-4.x appliance. These settings can be made in the usual way, using the APC Advanced View software or using the DCE-client software, as you wrote:
...Currently, i have configured these settings by right clicking the device - netbotz appliance configuration>Alert thresholds> and selecting sensors.
If briefly, for example, in order to receive e-mail notifications, the SMTP server must be correctly configured on your NetBotz-550 (not on the DCE-server). In addition, on your NetBotz-550 (not on the DCE-server), an e-mail notification policy must be configured, which must then be applied to the alarm threshold for a specific external sensor.
More details about this can be found in the NetBotz-4.x user manual on page Netbotz v4.x. If you have any questions, please ask.
Workaround: applicable for almost all external sensors, that are connected to the NetBotz-4.x appliance, except for discrete state sensors.
For example, let's take an external temperature sensor: in order to nothing configure on the NetBotz-4.x appliance, it is necessary in the DCE-client to create a corresponding virtual sensor for the above external temperature sensor. Then, for this virtual temperature sensor, you can create an alarm threshold in the DCE-server, apply the DCE-server notification policy for it, and check the result.
In this case, you do not need to configure the SMTP server on NetBotz-4.x appliance, you do not need to create alarm thresholds on NetBotz-4.x appliance, you do not need to create notification policies on NetBotz-4.x appliance, and you can disable the external sensor alarms on NetBotz-4.x appliance. I.e., absolutely everything is configured through a single DCE-server. It is this workaround solution, that I have been using successfully for many years 😀.
