The last week I've been getting intermittent errors on both my two SUA1500i UPSes. It's true we've been having some significant mains power issues during this time. But I can't work out if this is a temporary issue or a permanent fault with the machines, and if so what exactly it is.
The units work fine for a while until at some point it suddenly stops output, flashes all the six center lights (see attached movie and photo) and the fan goes on.
When I look at the event log, it says:
25.04.2016 18:35:40 UPS: Refused a self-test; UPS is overloaded. 25.04.2016 18:35:37 UPS: An automatic voltage regulator (AVR) relay fault exists. 25.04.2016 18:35:34 UPS: The output power is turned off.
When I turn it off and on again, it seems fine and carries on operating normally until the next time.
26.04.2016 08:54:29 UPS: Passed a self-test. 26.04.2016 08:54:14 UPS: The output power is now turned on. 26.04.2016 08:54:14 UPS: An automatic voltage regulator (AVR) relay fault no longer exists. 26.04.2016 08:54:14 UPS: Started a self-test.
The load on it is only around 100-150w.
Perhaps I should add that originally when the units started having these issues they were directly connected to the mains. Since then I've tried putting an Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) in front of them, but it doesn't seem to have helped prevent this intermittent error.
