I work on tech support and just saw your comment. It definitely sounds like there is something going wrong with your Galaxy VS UPS. The unit is supposed to provide a seamless transition to battery backup power when there is a loss or bad utility power. When you have a chance could you call my team at 800-800-4272? We can run through the menus with you and check on the health of the unit. If needed we can work to get a technician out to your site as well.
Any UPS is certainly designed to provide power during interruptions and I understand your frustrations. I do know that in order for this UPS to work there needs to be proper neutral and ground connections for the inverters to work properly. Obviously I do not know the circumstances surrounding your specific issues but if you could get me your UPS serial I could look into this further with engineering.
