Security Expert Web Operator Licenses

Issue If more than 3 Operators are created in Security Expert, the License page of the Thick Client will show more Licenses in use than the maximum three (3) clients provided with the standard  SX-SRVR License. To see what the site is using, select About > License and scroll down to the Feature: Web Operators. As shown below, there are four web operators active out of the three (4/3) allowed. Product Line Security Expert Environment Licensing Cause A Web Operator is defined as any Operator who can log onto the Security Expert Server using a browser.                           In the example shown below there are four Operators: admin 2nd Operator 3rd Operator 4th Operator The system allows each to log in successfully: The License option SX-WEB-OPR  enables 'x' number of browser connections depending on customer needs and should effectively ensure that the correct number of Operators are purchased, but the feature is currently in development and is not yet enforcing limits on the number of operator connections.  This allows the number of connections to exceed the maximum limit (I.e.4/3) for the time being. Resolution Note: The Operator does NOT even need to be logged on for the count to register 4/3, the fact that 4 operators have been created is enough. The restriction of operators via Web Client could be enabled/enforced at any time in the next release of the software, so it is strongly advised to purchase the correct number of Licenses required at the time of installation, to prevent a loss of user connectivity going forward.

How to configure a SetPoint in EcoStruxure Building Operation

Issue Configuring a SetPoint in EcoStruxure Building Operation so that the set value of the SetPoint is retained after a Warm or a Cold Start rather than defaulting to zero. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation Enterprise Server Building Operation Automation Server Premium Cause The value retention configuration is not held in the initial properties page of the Analogue Value when used as a SetPoint. Resolution Navigate to the actual value within the properties page of the Analogue Value. On the right hand side of the GUI there is a Configure button. Pressing on this button then takes the user to a sub menu where the Retain level option can be enabled. Once enabled it is then possible to decide whether the SetPoint needs to retain its value under a Warm Start or a Cold Start condition.

Refused to evaluate a string as JavaScript because 'unsafe-eval' is not an allowed source of script

Issue TGML Graphic worked without error in EcoStruxure Building Operation 2.0 WebStation. After an upgrade to 3.0, WebStation displays one of the following errors on page load: Script error in DocumentLoadEvent (Component_Name) Refused to evaluate a string as JavaScript because 'unsafe-eval' is not an allowed source of script in the following Content Security Policy directive: "script-src 'self' blob: 'unsafe-inline'". Do you want to continue running this script? This site says... Script error in DocumentLoadEvent (Component_Name) Blocked by Content Security Policy Do you want to continue running this script? Script error in DocumentLoadEvent (Component_Name) call to eval() blocked by CSP Do you want to continue running this script? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Building Operation 3.0 TGML Graphics Cause A new security setting in 3.0 disallows eval() statements by default in TGML JavaScripts presented in WebStation. An eval() statement executes a string of characters as code, which can open security vulnerabilities if enabled, something akin to a SQL injection or cross-site scripting attack. If graphics were created in earlier versions and relied on eval() to execute dynamic code, the user will be notified upon opening the graphic in 3.0 WebStation. Resolution Any graphics relying on eval() to execute dynamic code should have their JavaScript functions rewritten to avoid use of eval(). This is the preferred approach with respect to cyber-security. Work-Around It is possible, but not recommended, to disable the new security check in WebStation TGML graphics. Within WorkStation open the Control Panel Go to Security Settings Check the box for "Enable WebStation to use unsafe string evaluated JavaScript methods like 'eval' For more information, see Web Help article: Enabling WebStation to Use Unsafe JavaScript Methods.

How to use the new Graphic Components released with Building Operation 2.0

Issue Cannot find documentation on how to use the new Graphic components release with EBO 2.0 Getting the following errors when previewing my graphic page: "Script error in function "onLoad" .... ReferenceError: "_firstRun" is not defined "Script error in function "onChange" ... ReferenceError: "_setVisuals" is not defined Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation. Environment Building Operation Graphic Editor 2.0 GlobalScripts V2.0.0262 and above Cause With the release of EBO 2.0, a set of new components/snippets have been released which are different to those issued in earlier releases, although visually there is very little change. The scripting, in most cases but not all, has been removed from the components themselves and put into single scripts, this means we can take advantage of the global scripts functionality. This requires the user to set the UseGlobalScripts attribute to True within the TGML graphic editor, this can be on a per graphic basis and ensures that existing graphics will still function. Once turned to True, all components that have scripts, and have requirements for other global scripts to function correctly, can function as designed. For example, the setpoint box requires global scripts to ensure units and decimal places are displayed as designed/required due to the scripts. There are also two binds available on the box, one for reading, one for write. Both need to be bound to enable the component to function correctly.  The components are designed in this way to allow use in BACnet where it may require to read the resultant Value but Write at a specific Priority. Without the scripts added to the graphic, the component cannot function. For further details/questions refer to the following Community Posts which also includes the current PDF documentation: Help-with-an-EBO-2-0-component EcoStruxure-Building-Operation/Graphic-Component-Library-Rev-AB1-002-pdf This article provides the necessary steps required to enable and get these new components working and does not provide in-depth functionality. With the release of EBO 2.0, a set of new components/snippets have been released in the latest build which are different to those previously issued although visually there should be very little change for your customer. In summary, the scripting, in most cases but not all, has been removed from the components themselves and put into single scripts which then means we can take advantage of the global scripts functionality. This requires the user to set the UseGlobalScripts attribute to True within the TGML graphic editor, this can be a per graphic basis and ensures existing graphics still function. How to use the set point functionality of the ETR50x temperature sensor

Issue Need help configuring ETR501/ETR503 setpoint feature. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment AS IO b3 Cause The ETR50x Series sensors support a slider that can be used by the occupants to change the temperature setpoint of the controlled space. Resolution SENSOR CONNECTED TO AS IO MODULE Create a resistive input on an IO module such as the UI16 and wire the slider from the ETR50x unit to the resistive input on the IO module. Move the slider all the way to the left and take note of the value reading at the input. Move the slider all the way to the right and take note of the value reading at the input. Configure the input's conversion using the values noted from steps 2 and 3 as the bottom and top of the electrical scale (see screen shot below) Use desired setpoint values for the top and bottom of the engineering scale, in the example below the slider will allow changing the setpoint between 68 and 78, note that the units has been set to degrees F for readability. Heating/cooling application such as a PE Script can now use the value of the input as the setpoint. SENSOR CONNECTED TO b3 INPUT Same as above except that the input should be configured for VOLTAGE since the b3s do not support resistive inputs.

What type of cable should be used to wire inputs and outputs?

Issue What are the IO wiring requirements for the IO Modules? Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment Analogue, Digital, Input, Output Cables UI-16, DI-16, AO-8-x, AO-8-V-x UI-8, DO b3 Inputs Cause The existing documentation does not specify the exact cable types to be used. Resolution Different types of sensors can be used that come from different legacy systems, so cable types specified for the legacy systems will be appropriate for the same sensor type being connected to an Automation Server I/O module. If you are using Xenta sensors with the 1.8K Ohm thermistors you should use the wiring rules as per the Xenta documentation. Of if you use Continuum 10K Ohm sensors, use the Continuum IO wiring rules etc. Some suitable cables for most Analogue and Digital input, also analogue output applications are: 18 AWG (16 x 30) 0.823 mm2 - single pair screened e.g. Belden 8760 22 AWG (7 x 30) 0.325mm2 - single pair screened e.g. Belden 8761 The maximum distances that these cable can be run are dependent on the input requirements, for Temperature inputs this will depend on the temperature range and accuracy required. For examples of of these cable distances see links below: Continuum 10K Ohm sensors (also applicable for b3 controller inputs). Xenta 1.8K Ohm sensors For digital outputs cable should be used with appropriate size (current rating) to the loads being switched. It is recommended to use screened cables and also ensure correct connections for analogue inputs as detailed in How to wire an Analog input to an IO Module.

Differences between EcoStruxure Energy Expert and EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert

Issue There can be confusion on the differences between EcoStruxure Energy Expert (formerly Power Manager) and EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME)  Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation, Other Environment EcoStruxure EcoStruxure Energy Expert (formerly Power Manager) EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert (PME) Cause Power Monitoring Expert (PME) is a long-established product in the Schneider Power (EMS) offer and so its place in the market is well known and its support path is very clear. Energy Expert is a much newer offering that intentionally sits nearer to EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) in the BMS community, while still remaining an EMS product and so its place in the market and support path is more easily confused. Resolution Definitions   EcoStruxurePower Monitoring Expert (PME) Schneider Electric's supervisory software dedicated to power monitoring that enables you to maximize operational efficiency, optimize your power distribution system, and improve bottom-line performance   EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO)  Schneider Electric's premier building management system (BMS) providing integrated monitoring, control, and management of energy, lighting, HVAC, and fire safety.   Energy Expert for EcoStruxure                                                             Designed to offer Power Monitoring Expert (PME) features to new and existing EcoStruxure Building Operation (EBO) projects, giving extra capabilities to manage power utilization in a BMS environment.   It utilizes EcoStruxure Web Services (EWS) to be able it to share data between the two EcoStruxure software platforms. (EBO and EE) and applications such as the ETL Tool and the Integration Utility in the integration process.   EcoStruxure Web Services (EWS) The Schneider Electric standard for sharing data among various Schneider software platforms to facilitate the creation of EcoStruxure Solutions. Based on conventional Web Services technology (SOAP, WSDL)   ETL Tool The function of the ETL is to extract select historical data (Trend logs) from EBO, and load that data into the Energy Expert SQL database for use in Dashboard and Reports etc.   Integration Utility The function of the Integration Utility is to export Energy Expert Dashboards, Reports and Alarms for import into EBO to enhance its Power Offer to the customer   Product Support Path: PME, Energy Expert, ETL and the Integration Utility are are all fundamentally Power Products and so should always be raised through your local Product Support Team (via your Customer Care Center (CCC)) under an EMS commercial reference. However in cases where an Energy Expert project needs specific assistance with the EBO side of the integration then a BMS commercial reference should be used instead.

EcoStruxure Energy Expert (Formerly Power Manager): Best Practices

Issue Differences between EcoStruxure Energy Expert and EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert There are some best practices and tips that can be used to save engineering time when setting up a EcoStruxure Energy Expert (Formerly Power Manager) system. To find out the differences between Energy Expert and Power Monitoring Expert (PME) see Differences between EcoStruxure Energy Expert and EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert. Product Line EcoStruxure Building Operation Environment EcoStruxure Building Operation Workstation EcoStruxure Energy Expert EcoStruxure Power Monitoring Expert ETL Integration Tool Cause The following topics should be considered before and during the implementation of the EcoStruxure Energy Expert offering to achieve the cleanest and most effective database.    For more information on design considerations including IT considerations, software compatibility, server specification, hard drive space, etc; see Design Guide - EcoStruxure Energy Expert - formerly Power Manager. For more information on integration see Energy Expert with EcoStruxure Building Operation.  For more information regarding Power Monitoring Expert (PME) please visit the Solutions Expert Community. Here you can find documentation, content, and additional help.  Resolution You may get some benefit working thorough some older existing support material under Energy Expert's former name of Power Manager such as the Deploy Power Manager for SmartStruxure Solution in a Day document.  Also check out the Power Manager EWS Alarm Web Configuration Quick-Help video on the Exchange. General Always install the EcoStruxure Energy Expert software with full Windows administrative rights. Just logging in with a user that has admin rights may not be enough. If you are unable to save an ETL job or run as a service; close ETL, right click on ETL and select run as administrator.  Create one folder on the root level of the server that holds all of the extended trend logs you wish to transfer to EE. This folder can even be set up to be visible to only a designated admin account to prevent any changes to be made to the trends. If any other items like trend charts are in this folder, it will only slow down the process.  See StruxureWare ETL tool locks up or takes a long time while loading sources for information on how to improve the scan time of the ETL load sources function.    SQL Server It is not recommended to install EcoStruxure Energy Expert on a machine that has another instance of SQL already installed on it unless you have advanced SQL configuration skills. The default SQL instance name is ION and the system administrator password is ION!Everywhere. This should not be changed.   Selecting Between Architecture 1 and 2 The three items to consider when selecting an Architecture are device type, numbers of registers to be requested, and device location. The device type is the most important item to consider though. In order to get the most out of the high feature, more robust meters, Architecture 2 should be used. Architecture 2 should be used if the following features are present; ION meter, multi-address device, power quality functions, onboard logging, and/or onboard alarming. When low-end power meters, energy meters, or pulse meters are used, there is no difference between the two architectures in fulfilling the energy management requirement. Most of the Schneider Electric meters and circuit breakers are fully supported by EE. This means that EE has built-in drivers to utilize the full function of the device and the required commission time is minimized.   Architecture 1: Logging data in EcoStruxureWare Building Operation (EBO) It is recommended to use interval trend logs to log the raw data coming in from the meters.  The only durations that need to be set up in trend logs for ETL is the standard trend log duration. This is generally going to be 15 minutes as a industry standard. EE Dashboards and Reports have an aggregation mechanism to make use of the data. Thus durations such as day, week, or month do not need to be brought over into EcoStruxure Energy Expert (EE) as it can be calculated later based off of the 15 minute trend log value.  If both Trendlogs and Extended Trendlogs are used, it is recommended to send the data in the Trendlog to EE to avoid the lagging between Extended Trendlogs and Trendlogs.    ETL StruxureWare Building Operation version 1.6 RC EcoStruxure Web Services (EWS) do not support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) URLs. For the ETL Extract task make sure to fill out the web service name (default is admin), web service password (default is admin), and web service URL (replace localhost:8080 with your web server address and port as needed) in the settings. For the ETL Load task make sure that the ION data database connection string and ION network database connection string are correct. Also change the field enable recorder and channel creation to True. The recommended naming convention for the Target Device field is [Group].[DeviceName] with no special characters such as \ * + = | : ; < > _. An example could be BuildingA.SubMeter1 where the building name is used as the group and the meter name is used as the device name. With this naming convention, all values brought in under this particular meter will have the same Target Device name.    The Target Measurement field is very important to set correctly as it will not bring the data over to EE correctly if the right unit has not been chosen. This is a process that will become easier with more experience but you can reference Section 6.9 Measurement mapping for ETL in the Power Manager for SmartStruxure Solution - Integration Manual. This chart can be used to search for the unit type you are dealing with and which corresponding Mapping should be use.
