NOTE #2: This does not apply to SE employees. SE is already enrolled in the STI program. Be sure to purchase all Cisco hardware through this program rather than retail (60% discount off list for IoT products like IE-1000, IE-2000, IE-4000, 56% discount off list for Core products like Catalyst switches).
Many have noticed that we've published about the Cisco Partnership on the Exchange. This program allows EcoXpert partners to enroll as Cisco partners and request an STI (Solution Technology Integrator) Extension to receive the same discounts on Cisco equipment that SE receives.
After one of our 2019 Innovation Days events, @jamesrogers_cs3 and @rgoodwin_1 asked me to help them sign up and I struggled to figure out exactly what was required until meeting with the Cisco team. Below is my simplified outline of the process...I wasn't able to complete all the steps because my CCO ID is already associated with SE (an existing Cisco partner), but this should give folks a much better understanding of the process. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you find I'm missing steps or important details.
The process:
Simplified Cisco STI Extension steps:
Become a Cisco Registered Partner (for use by someone with signature authority for your company)

- Your Cisco login (from step 1)
- Company physical address, email address, phone number
- Administrator contact info (the person registering the company)
- Current Cisco distributor(s) and valid account number(s)
- US Federal Tax ID number (required for US companies)
- US IRS Form W9 (required for US companies)
- VAT identification number (for EU companies)
- Company shareholder information (if not publicly traded)

Once you've finished filling out this form, it can take up to 24 hours to obtain approval. Once your request has been approved, you will be a Cisco Registered Partner.
Achieve Cisco Select Certified Partner Status
You can achieve Cisco Select Certified Partner status by completing one of six available Express Specialization tracks:
- Collaboration
- Data center
- Networking
- Security
- Service Provider
- Small and Medium Sized Business (SMB)
We recommend the Networking Express Specialization track.
This requires someone from your organization to take and pass an exam on the Account Management (/"sales") side and on the Engineering side.
Suggested exam for the Account manager: Introduction to Cisco Sales exam (#700-150)
Note: E-learning is available at a small fee to prepare you for this exam
Exam for the Engineer: Cisco Networking: On-Premise and Cloud Solutions (#500-551)
Note: E-learning is available free of charge to prepare you for this exam.

Request and Execute STI Extension
EcoXpert Partners in good standing can request an STI Extension to receive outstanding pricing, promotion, and other benefits after achieving Cisco Select Certified Partner status.
