Re: 3D GRAPHICS SUPPORT

Hi Tony,

I see you are a BMS Partner, so I would encourage you to visit the EcoStruxure Building Operation forum and search through the Graphics Exchange label.

I don't know if you will find a single library of three dimensional components to address every need you have, but you can find a lot of good pieces others have shared over the years.

My two cents - when people say "3D graphics" they often mean two things: (1) photorealistic and (2) vanishing point perspective. Both of these in my opinion don't take advantage of the strengths of TGML. Photorealistic images result in large file sizes just to add something like texture to ductwork, ie, very little benefit. If you embrace the vectored aesthetic, you can create very complex graphics that render very efficiently and don't take up much storage. As for vanishing point perspective, it looks cool, but makes moving components or dynamically adjusting equipment difficult or impossible without some 3D rendering software. If you go for a flat 2D or isometric presentation, then you can snap your components together easily into any configuration.

Re: 3D GRAPHICS SUPPORT

To be fair, navigating the old Graphics Exchange was infinitely simpler than the current iteration. That being said, I totally agree with your statements on 3D graphics.
