New BE750G. Cannot perform self-test. Cannot turn on power to Battery Backup outlets. What's wrong? I am running the latest version of PowerChute Personal on a Dell Laptop running Windows Pro 7 (64).

Hello,
Can you clarify - are you trying to run the self-test through the software or manually via the power button? Does the UPS turn on? Did this ever work properly?
Usually what I suggest if there is a problem is to start fresh. Turn off the UPS, remove every cable connection from it including the USB, unplug it from the wall, remove the battery and hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds. Then, reconnect the battery, plug the UPS back in, connect all your cable connections and try again.
If this does not work, I would like to understand more about the state of the UPS with this issue - is the power LED on/off/flashing? Is there any beeping? Do the surge only outlets work?

This was the first time I attempted to use the unit. I did unplug, remove the battery, re-insert the battery and attempt to program with no luck. The LEDs come on and it beeps when the master button is pressed. Then, the surge protector units work for a few minutes and then the unit shuts down. The battery backup outlets have never been live.

Hmm, I am not sure what that means personally as I cannot say this behavior sounds familiar. It also does not seem to match up with anything here, especially if its plugged into AC power -> http://www.apcmedia.com/salestools/KBOK-766PMZ/KBOK-766PMZ_R2_EN.pdf
What are the first several digits of the serial number on the bottom? Something like JB1010XXXXXX?
Steve DePerry - is this something you can comment on when you get a few minutes?
