Hello APC Forum Members,
I purchased an SUA3000RMXL3 back in January 2010 and its already telling me to replace the battery. Is it typical that a UPS battery for a $1300 dollar UPS only holds up for 1 year? That's pretty lame if you ask me.
Thanks

no, it is not typical. [check out this knowledgebase article|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8301/]
is it a geniune APC RBC? it sounds like that you bought the UPS brand new so it of course should be. depending on the environment, the battery could fail prematurely. if the battery is faulty, it could also display these symptoms.
Smart UPS have a two year warranty which includes the UPS and battery. if you want to contact tech support, they will review a few things with you and if they deem the battery faulty, then they can send a replacement battery for you.
