I'm planning on purchasin a Back Ups Pro 1500. My problem is it doesn't provide enough sockets that supports power backup for my home media setup. I need atleast 9 sockets. So I thought what if I connect two units via the runtime extender port (the port where you plug a battery extender to extend it's runtime on power outages) Is it possible? Or should I just purchase a bigger unit?

The connector at the back of your UPS is just for external battery pack. If you are looking for a UPS for your home media/theater setup, we have our AV UPS product line that is made specifically for audio/video equipment and setup. And yes, it would be best that you switch to a bigger UPS.

I'm not sure about connecting two units together, but, since it looks like you've determinded that the 1500 will at least have the capacity to support the needs of your media setup, why not just throw a couple of additional sockets to the UPS by using a short multiple socket extension cord?
