How do I reset circuit breaker on 10BI?

This was originally posted on APC forums on 1/2/2016

Using UTS 10BI with utility power I accidentally overloaded a circuit. I reset breaker in existing old circuit board but can't seem to reset the 10BI. Message on the screen says circuit failure "press a key to reset". I assume this means either of the arrows but circuit red light keeps flashing. How do I reset the UTS breaker? nothing connected to the problem circuit.

The UTS showed a flashing light on the overloaded circuit and you're right it was a fuse in the UTS. Both the breaker on the main board and the fuse in the UTS blew. It's a problem waiting to happen as a small kitchen has a toaster oven and a large microwave on the same circuit just waiting for either my wife or I to forget and try to use them both at the same time  I'm finally having a second circuit installed to avoid a recurrence.

Further to my post above, an electrician found a blown fuse in the 10BI and replaced it so I'm back in business but I still don't know what "press any key to reset" means? What "key"?

Robert,

The message is not as intuitive as it should be. If the Light was out for the circuit that would indicate the circuit was open and in most cases means the fuse has blown. The "press a key to reset" should be done after replacing the blown fuse to reactivate the circuit and the key to press is either the up or down arrow.

I appreciate your observation that the message "is not as intuitive as it should be". "Press a key" sounds like it comes from desktop software that has a keyboard. I'll remember your up or down arrow suggestion for next time.

The light on the overloaded circuit was not out but flashing. The back story is that the particular circuit is in a small kitchen that due to size constraints ended up with both a toaster oven and a microwave oven plugged into the same outlet. When either my wife or I unthinkingly turned one on while the other was on it tripped a breaker which was easy to reset. This experience has shown that the tripped breaker doesn't protect the UTS 10BI fuse from blowing making for a more cumbersome punishment for our forgetfullness. We're either going to have our electrician add a 2nd circuit or maybe there's a switched adaptor that would take the plugs of both appliances but would only allow one to run without switching off the other.

Thank you very much for your help.

Further to my thanks above I wanted to thank Michael Smith as well but somehow his comment vanished  from the correspondence.
