I have a Back-UPS RS 1300 and it's been running flawlessly for about 5 years. Now all of a sudden it will power down completely even though it's still plugged in to an AC source. The battery is still good because it passes self test and if I remove it's input power it goes to battery backup. Any ideas?

When you say all of a sudden, do you mean it turns on normally but randomly shuts down? Or will it shutdown immediately when turning it on?

It turns on normally and runs but I had three occurrences on different days where for no apparent reason it just shut down. It did not go to battery backup and everything connected was powered off. If I remove it's power source it will go to battery backup and it passes the self test it runs every so often. The battery is more than 3 years old but from all indications the UPS is operating properly. I have no idea why it just shut down on the times it did.
