So, I've got a Back_UPS XS 1500, and when I got home from work today, my equipment was on battery power, and the bad/replace battery light was flashing. Obviously, the battery is fine because it was providing enough power to keep my computer, cable modem and wifi running.
I turned off the computer, turned off the UPS, took the battery out and reseated it, turned it back on, and no bad battery indicator.
I've seen that when that light is flashing, it sometimes means the unit can't see the battery, but, if that was the case, why would it have successfully switched to battery mode?
The other odd thing - the battery indicator on the LCD showed a full charge while this was happening, so I guess it didn't see the battery.
Any ideas?
Anything to be worried about if it doesn't happen again?

is this what you have?

if so, i think it is normal that when the UPS is operating on battery that the indicator flashes where if the UPS is not on battery and it flashes, it means the battery is disconnected. its also normal that when the UPS is on battery for its self test, the same thing will happen as a on battery due to a power outage.
